UTM and campaign tags

What this is

UTM tags are parameters added to your destination URL when someone clicks through. They help Insights show which campaigns, sources, and channels drove traffic.

Before you start

  • You have a link open on the Settings tab.

Steps

  1. Open a link's Settings tab.
  2. Find Landing page tags (campaign tracking section).
  3. Fill in any of these fields:
    • Source — where traffic came from (for example newsletter)
    • Medium — the marketing medium (for example email)
    • Campaign — the campaign name (for example spring-sale)
    • Term — paid search keywords (optional)
    • Content — differentiate ads or links (optional)
  4. Review the Share URL preview to see the final URL.
  5. Click Save changes.

What happens next

When someone clicks your short link, the UTM parameters are appended to the destination URL. Links with the same Campaign tag appear together on the Campaigns page.

Tips

  • Use Share by channel on the Overview tab for pre-tagged links per platform — see Share a link.
  • Campaign names are case-sensitive in filters.
